This Wednesday (10/01), Fernando Ferreira, a researcher from the Internet and Social Network Studies Laboratory at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NetLab UFRJ) participated in the workshop “Successful and timely uptake of Artificial Intelligence in science in the EU | Policy Design”, organized by Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA).
Held in Brussels, the hybrid event sought to deepen the current debate on the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by the scientific sector in European Union countries. The researcher discussed ‘Automated disinformation – computational propaganda’, one of the main themes in NetLab UFRJ studies.
The meeting agenda brought together experts from across the globe to debate challenges involving the use of Artificial Intelligence. Members of Working Groups presented solutions and measures, such as regulatory policies, communication and initiatives to responsibly implement AI as a tool for the scientific community in the European Union.
