Cover of the research "Amazônia Livre de Fake"

This Wednesday (12/06), the report “Amazonia Livre de Fake” was published, an Intervozes project, which is an initiative of Coletivo Brasil de Comunicação Social, in partnership with Amazonian organizations. The aim of these initiatives is to combat hate speech and misinformation which is harmful to the Legal Amazon Zone and those who work to defend it.

The research involved several collaborators and profile monitoring partners, including the Research Laboratory of the School of Communication at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NetLab UFRJ), which carried out multiplatform monitoring to collect content published between October 2022 and October 2023.

The laboratory mapped the profiles of each politician listed by Interzoves on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram and YouTube, in addition to advertisements published on Meta's platforms and available in its ad library. Engagement metrics were analyzed, considering the volume of publications, interactions and followers of each profile.
